The greatest thing about the Millenium 3 is that it sheds the myth that powerful and complex logic controllers must be a pain to program and use. That is to say, ‘this guy” with the use of the online help guide and some youtube videos had no trouble creating block layouts for pump controls and an AC motor alarm system. Dubbed M3 soft – even the name is easy – it is a quick and simple program that requires no expert knowledge, and boasts a handsome function block based graphic interface. Well, for someone like myself, of who my stepdad intoned “you have to be smarter than the seatbelt” – the M3 uses the most intuitive programming software on the market. We can count that statement as TRUE, without a doubt! When they say, “for everything”, Crouzet did not stutter as the M3 combines monitoring, timing, counting, temperature control, level control, and countless other functions in one easy-to-use logic controller. I am not sure if I require specific drivers in order for this to work, none are provided on the manufacturers website for any OS.Of their Millenium 3, Crouzet boasts that it is “the logic controller for everyone, for everything”. I have tried on both my Ubuntu laptop and also a Raspberrypi3 with the same results. My goal is to register this PLC as a tty* device in order to establish a serial connection to the device. I have tried adding a udev rule to register the device as such under the file: /etc/udev/rules.d/les ACTION="add", SUBSYSTEM="tty", ATTRS="00492F60", MODE="666",SYMLINK+="millenium-3" The lsusb output is as follows: Bus 001 Device 021: ID 0403:7d51 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd फĪnd the device appears under: /dev/bus/usb/001/021īut in order to establish a serial connection in my program I believe the device needs to be registered in the tty subsystem and appear as /dev/tty*.usb 1-2: Manufacturer: Crouzet Automatisme SAS usb 1-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 usb 1-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0403, idProduct=7d51, bcdDevice= 6.00 When I connect the 'Crouzet - Millenium 3 PLC' to my Ubuntu laptop via a USB serial cable the following dmesg output is given: usb 1-2: new full-speed USB device number 21 using xhci_hcd
